Heads & Tails

Branding, Capsule Collection

Summary

Heads & Tails is a streetwear brand rooted in hip-hop, dance, and street culture, built around rhythm, movement, and raw expression. The identity needed to go beyond clothing and become a visual language that reflects energy, attitude and individuality.

For this project, I developed the full brand identity and a capsule collection. My role was to translate cultural references into a bold, wearable system, one that feels authentic to the streets while standing out in a saturated fashion space.

Research & Exploration

I began by immersing myself in the visual language of street culture—graffiti, music visuals, dance movement, and underground fashion. The goal was to understand how rhythm and energy could be translated into a visual identity rather than just referenced superficially.

Through moodboarding and experimentation, I explored expressive typography, distorted forms, and symbol-based systems. This phase helped define a direction that felt raw yet controlled, something that could carry the unpredictability of street culture while still functioning as a cohesive brand.

Design Thinking

The concept was built around rhythm as the core idea. I transformed elements of the wordmark into musical note-inspired forms, specifically the “head” and “tail”, turning typography into a symbolic system tied directly to sound and movement.

From there, I designed the identity to behave like music: dynamic, expressive, and layered. The graffiti-inspired execution adds authenticity, while the structure ensures clarity across applications. The result is a brand that feels loud, unapologetic, and deeply connected to its cultural roots.

Expansion & Development

Once the core system was established, I expanded it into a capsule collection and supporting visual assets. The focus was on making sure the identity translated seamlessly onto apparel while maintaining its energy across different formats.

I developed compositions, graphics, and typographic treatments that could live on garments, posters, and in the real world. The system was designed to be flexible, allowing for variation and experimentation while staying recognizable. This ensured the brand could evolve while still feeling consistent and intentional.

The Outcome

By focusing on clarity, speed, and usability, the design positions Everbat as a platform that respects both the complexity of trading and the need for simplicity in execution—making it feel modern, accessible, and built for real use.
